LIFE UNDER TRUMP’S MINI-ME
Buenos Aires- Elected just over a year ago amid popular outrage over high inflation, Libertarian president Javier Milei is a Trump clone whoís even more clownish than the original. The president, who calls himself ìking of the jungle,î is gleefully sending the common people of the southern nation through a series of painful economic and social shocks. On the world stage, heís team MAGA, towing the disruptor-in-chiefís line as Reuters reports: ìDenying climate science, dissenting on gender equality and blasting higher taxes on billionaires, Argentine President Javier Milei, fresh off meeting Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort, is spoiling for a fight with the global consensus.î Forbes reports that, ìIn a bold move, Milei halved the number of ministries and eliminated 70,000 public sector jobs. He also suspended new public works contracts and removed various subsidies, further underscoring his commitment to reducing state intervention in the economy.î
While common people lose necessary services, the worldís 1% are raising their champagne glasses. Wall Street predatory loan sharks are now reaping the profits of their corrupt deals, making billions off the backs of Argentines. Forbes reports that, ìFollowing a meeting with the Argentine president in Los Angeles, Tesla, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted to his 182 million followers that he recommends investing in Argentina.
One of Mileiís first acts was to close the Cultural Ministry. He has since shut down the museums memorializing Argentinaís dictatorship. For some reason, they are not part of his vision.
